Today, 20 May 2012 Phoenix Racing have taken their third victory at the gruelling Nürburgring 24 Hours and in doing so have taken Audi’s first victory in this legendary event. The #3 Audi R8 LMS ultra crossed the line victorious after a very hard race. It has been the fourth year of the Audi R8 LMS (R16) participating in this event and the long awaited victory has finally arrived.
The twenty four hour races are emotional events and brings excitement, joy, achievement and heartache in equal measure. In 2010 Phoenix Racing produced this video depicting the emotion of the event. It is a great video which was expertly put together. The video’s visual and musical combination is enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up as you are immersed into the emotional roller coaster that is the Nürburgring 24 Hours. We are sincerely hoping that Phoenix Racing or Audi Sport produce an equivalent video about the 2012 victory. But until then, there is the 2010 video which will give you a good taste of what went into today’s triumph at the Ring.
