DTM: The perfect weekend for Jamie Green at the Lausitzring

By Tarek Ramchani

The perfect weekend for Jamie Green at the Lausitzring in the demanding Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. The Audi driver dominated the action against world class rivals.

Jamie Green started very well the DTM weekend action with a fine fourth place in the opening practice session on Friday. Saturday was kind of complete domination, the Audi Sport Team Rosberg ace was the fastest in the second practice session. Then he qualified in a strong second place for race 1. Later he dominated the 40-minute race with no DRS and led an impressive 1-2-3-4 Audi.

Sunday was a kind of dèjà vu for Jamie Green. A great pole position then a brilliant race win in the longer 60-minute race. The British driver lead an even better 1-2-3-4-5 for the Ingolstadt brand.

At the Lausitzring, Jamie Green was unbeatable and became the first driver to win two races in a same weekend with the new format in DTM. Great victories mean big points, Jamie Green is strongly leading the drivers' standing with 75 points ahead of fellow Audi driver Mattias Ekström.

Jamie Green:

"A fantastic weekend, arguably the best one in my career. Two victories, a commanding best time in qualifying with a half-second advantage, plus the fastest lap in both races – you can hardly achieve more than that."

"I was fast at the Lausitzring before, but this year I’ve upped the ante. It was a mega job by everyone involved. The Audi RS 5 DTM seems to be tailor-made for me this year. Now I’m looking forward to traveling to the Norisring as the leader of the standings. It’s one of my favorite tracks"
