Blancpain Endurance Series: Positive practice session for Audi teams at Monza

Action has started at Monza, the famous Temple of Speed is hositng the opnening round of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series.

The Audi Sport customer racing squad is very well represented with car competing in all of the series three classes: Pro-Cup, Pro-Am Cup and Am-Cup. The new Audi R8 LMS is taking part in the event.

The Audi teams had a positive practice session today at Monza with two R8 LMS ultra cars within the Top 10 overall.


Best of the Audis was the #1 car from Belgian Audi Club Team WRT. The car shared by Jean-Karl Vernay, Robin Frijns and Laurens Vanthoor was fifth fastest. Kelvin van der Linde, Stephane Richelmi and Christopher Mies driving the #3 entry from Belgian Audi Club Team WRT were ninth.

The #75 Audi R8 LMS ultra from I.S.R Racing was twenty-first overall with drivers Filip Salaquarda, Marco Bonanomi and Frederic Vervisch. Their team-mates Fabio Onidi, Anders Fjordbach and Andrea Roda were twenty-third with the #47 Audi.

The brand new Audi R8 LMS is debuting in Blancpain GT Series showing already some promising performances. The #2 machine driven by Frank Stippler, Stephane Ortelli, Nico Müller was twenty-fifth overall, the car managed by Belgian Audi Club Team WRT.


Team Parker Racing from the UK performed well within the Am-Cup. Ian Loggie and Julian Westwood driving the #24 Audi R8 LMS ultra were thirty-third overall.

Best of the two Sainteloc Racing Audis was thirty-fifth overall with the #35 R8 LMS ultra of Gregory Guilvert, Edward Sandström and Edoardo Mortara. The #4 Audi R8 LMS ultra from Belgian Audi Club Team WRT (Pro-Am Cup) was fourty-sixth. The #36 Audi R8 LMS ultra from Sainteloc Racing (Am-Cup) was fiftieth. The Phoenix Racing entry, with a new Audi R8 LMS did not take part in the session.
