Pirelli World Challenge: Impressive second practice session for Audi drivers at COTA

The Audi Sport customer racing squad had a mixed first practice session at the Circuit of the Americas, things were much better in the second one.

Seven Audi R8 LMS ultra took part in the second Pirelli World Challenge practice circuit at the fabulous COTA circuit. The Audi teams performed very well, four Audi drivers made it into the Top 10.

Guy Cosmo who skipped the opening session, took a very strong second overall driving the #23 Audi R8 LMS ultra . The M1 Racing driver set a best time of 2:05.609. Guy Cosmo was right behind the leading Ferrari 458 GT3 of Olivier Beretta.


Mike Skeen the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge runner-up was third fastest. Driving his #2 CRP Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra, he set a best time of 2:05.804

As was the case in the first practice session, Madison Snow performed well in the second session of the day. The GMG Racing driver ended in sixth place overall with his #21 Audi R8 LMS ultra setting a best time of 2:06.510.

GMG Racing team owner James Sofronas was ninth fastest. Driving his #14 Audi R8 LMS ultra he set a best time of 2:06.798.


The remaining three Audi R8 LMS ultra were outside the Top 20. Jeff Courtney with the #99 Audi was twenty-ninth. Alex Welch behind the wheel of the #76 car was thirty-second. Drew Regitz was thirty-third driving the #19 R8 LMS ultra.
