APR Motorsport Press Release

May 9, 2012 (Opelika, Ala.) – It’s an upbeat APR Motorsport team that is traveling to Millville, New Jersey and the New Jersey Motorsports Park for this weekend’s Global Barter 250 for the Rolex Series and B+ Heroes 200 for the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. For starters, the weather promises to be almost perfect, leaving the memories of a rainy weekend in Miami behind, and second, the team’s drivers are eager to tackle NJMP’s Thunderbolt circuit.

With Dr. Jim Norman and Dion von Moltke at the helm, the no. 51 APR Audi R8 Grand-Am has shown vastly improved form at the last two races at Barber Motorsports Park and Homestead-Miami Speedway. The torrential weather conditions meant the car would finish well down the order as the team diagnosed a problem with the car’s computer, but the car had shown tremendous speed during von Moltke’s opening stint.

As part of NJMP’s partnership with the Susan G. Komen foundation, fans can participate in an online auction for a Pit Crew Experience with several Rolex Series teams, including APR Motorsport. To bid on your chance to see the Global Barter 250 from the pits of the no. 51 APR Audi R8 Grand-Am, visit www.komencsnj.org/njmp.

Fans of APR Motorsports can speak with team owner Stephen Hooks during the CTSCC and Rolex Series races on its Live Blog, which can be accessed at www.goapr.com. Fans can ask questions and get a glimpse into what the team goes through during each race.

The Global Barter 250, the fourth round of the 2012 Rolex Sports Car Series, will go green on Sunday, May 12 at 1:00 PM ET and will be shown live on SPEED Channel. The B+ Heroes 200 presented by BCKSTGR, the fourth round of the 2012 CTSCC, will be run on Saturday, May 11 at 3:15 PM ET. The broadcast will be shown on Saturday, May 26 at 2:00 PM ET on SPEED.
