DTM: Jamie Green wins an action packed DTM race 1 at Hockenheim

Jamie Green won the opening race of the 2015 DTM season at Hockenheim. The British driver started from pole position and was able to hold the lead in the 40-minute "sprint" race.
The Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver dominated today's round behind the wheel of his #53 Audi RS 5 DTM. Jamie Green was ahead of two Mercedes-Benz drivers, Pascal Wehrlein was second and Paul di Resta was third.
Today's victory is a historical one of Jamie Green, his first ever win with Audi Sport in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
It was an action packe drace with a lot of contacts between the drivers of the three elite German brands.
The other Audi drivers performed very well. Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was fourth overall. 2013 DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was fifth. Youngster Nico Mueller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was sixth.
Double DTM champion Mattias Ekstrom was twelfth. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was fifteenth. Unlcuky race 1 for both Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) and Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix), both drivers were forced to retire.
The Audi teams and drivers will be back on track tomorrow. The Hockenheim circuit will host the second qualifying session and and the 1-hour race 2.
