The Nürburgring Nordschleife is a mythical place for car and motorsport enthusiasts alike. Dubbed the “Green Hell” it is the longest motor racing circuit in the world measuring over twenty kilometres. It is a challenging circuit that also hosts one of the most difficult endurance races in world, the Nürburgring 24 Hours. 2012 will be the fortieth running of this legendary endurance race. For those who are not familiar with this event and the circuit there are a few videos bellow to give some insight to the challenge that is the Nürburgring 24 Hours. It is an event where the drivers not only have to beat their fellow competitors but they have to beat and survive the circuit as well. To add to the challenge of the event and the circuit is the factor of traffic, the faster cars approach the slower cars of the almost two hundred car field at an alarming speed differential and this adds to the challenge.
