TSS: B-Quik Racing ready for the challenge of Thailand Super Series

B-Quik Racing Press Release

B-Quik Racing is ready for the challenge of the new season in Thailand Super Series. The team has ambitious objectives for 2015 and will run two cars in the Super Car Class 2-GTM for Henk J. Kiks (#26 Audi R8 LMS Cup) and Daniel Bilski (#27 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup).

Thailand Super Series, the premier domestic motorsport championship, enters its third season this year and certainly the most hotly competitive category on the bumper programme will be Super Car Class 2-GTM with close to two dozen cars expected to fight it out over four rounds and nine races.

The season starts with two consecutive rounds at Chang International Circuit in Buriram, in May and July respectively, before a visit to the historic home of Thai motorsport, Bira International Circuit, in September, and then winding to a conclusion on the iconic Bangsaen Street Circuit two months later.

Super Car Class 2-GTM is really the place to be this year and the category will see a mouthwatering array of top drivers behind the wheel of cutting-edge racing machines from brands including Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, Lamborghini, Toyota and Holden.

B-Quik Racing will enter its Audi R8 LMS Cup and Porsche 997 GT3 Cup in this category and will be looking to make a very strong impact in the fight for the Drivers’ and Teams’ championships.

Team Leader Henk will be back for a second season in the Audi R8 LMS Cup and will be hoping to capitalise on the pace that the car demonstrated during last year’s TSS round in Buriram when Henk was able to lead the races and post fastest laps, although issues eventually kept him off the podium. Those performances provide a robust platform for the Dutchman to build on at the season opener next weekend and the team will be hoping that the data they acquired last year with the car will get them out of the blocks fast.

Henk J. Kiks (#26 Audi R8 LMS Cup, Super Car Class 2-GTM): “The team is now really getting into the swing of things for the upcoming season. We have run two races so far this year, in the Audi Cup in Zhuhai with an R8 and in Asia Classic Car in Sepang with the 944 and E30, but now the focus has shifted to TSS and the first two races in Buriram. It's a slightly hectic period as after Sepang the whole crew flew to Thailand to start preparing the R8 and the 997 for Buriram. B-Quik Racing is going seriously into the season, with two cars on the grid for the full year in Class 2 and the target is simple, to win the Drivers’ and Teams’ championships. In order to do that the preparations must be flawless and large stocks have been delivered of spares and consumables and the boys have learned a lot more already this year from Zhuhai and Sepang. We have extra planning and preparation to do also as after Buriram the team will immediately move to Korea for the next round of the Audi R8 Cup.”

Round 1 (Race 1 & 2) of Thailand Super Series 2015 takes place at Chang International Circuit, Buriram on 9-10 May.

TSS: B-Quik Racing and Kiks continue with Audi R8 LMS in Thailand for 2015

By Johan Laubscher

B-Quik Racing will be continuing to run one Audi R8 LMS entry as part of its multi-car line-up in the Thailand Super Series this year. The team acquired an ex-Audi R8 LMS Cup vehicle last year and fielded it in the 2014 Thailand Super Series with Henk J. Kiks behind the wheel.

Kiks performed well in the Audi R8 LMS and showed very strong pace within the Super Car Class 2-GTM category. He is expected to build on the strengths of 2014, as he and the team moves into the new season.

The 2015 Thailand Super Series will get underway at the Chang International Circuit from 8-10 May.

TSS: Top 5 results for B-Quik Racing Audi R8 LMS at Bangsaen finale

By Johan Laubscher

The Chang Bangsaen Street Circuit played host to the fourth and final round of the Thailand Super Series this past weekend. It was also the eighth edition of the Bangsaen Thailand Speed Festival.

B-Quik Racing again entered their #26 Audi R8 LMS driven by Henk J. Kiks for the finale. The team had a very strong but unlucky penultimate round at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram a few weeks ago. Kiks was the fastest competitor in the GTM class (Class 2). Bad luck and on-track incidents resulted in two DNFs whilst he was battling for victory during both of the weekend's races last time out. Despite this, Kiks said that it was his best race weekends of his career to date. He and the team arrived at the season finally hoping for a repeat of the speed and pace they showed last time out.

Qualifying was a story of heavy traffic and red flag periods. Kiks was unable to find a clear lap and only qualified seventh in class.

The first race saw a fourth place for Kiks and the second and final race of the season concluded with a fifth place finish.

It was a good season for B-Quik Racing and the debut of the Audi R8 LMS in the Thailand Super Series.

TSS: Unlucky weekend for B-Quik Racing Audi R8 LMS in Buriram

By Johan Laubscher

The penultimate round of the Thailand Super Series was held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram this weekend.

B-Quik Racing was out in force and fielded the #26 Audi R8 LMS of Henk Kiks in the Class 2 - GTM class. The team arrived on a high note after claiming a GTC class podium finish at the Sepang 12 Hours in August.

Kiks qualified eighth in the GTM class, fourteenth overall.

Despite terrific speed and pace, both of the races unfortunately concluded with Henk Kiks appearing on the list of competitors not classified at the finish.

Races one and two saw Kiks as the fastest car out on track. The first race unfortunately ended for the Audi whilst Kiks was battling for the lead on the last lap. Kiks went for the pass, but the race leader made contact with Kiks on the slippery track and Kiks unfortunately retired from the race in the gravel off track. The second and final race of the weekend again saw the yellow Audi R8 LMS racing through the field. He took the lead of the race, but tragically the car developed a gearshift problem and it ultimately resulted in the second non-finish of the weekend.

It may have been an unlucky weekend for the team, but they showed great pace and promising speed with their new Audi R8 LMS.

The final round of the TSS will be taking place at the Bangsaen street circuit from 10-14 December.
