A great race 2 qualifying session for Audi this morning at Hockenheim. The Ingolstadt brand takes another pole position with a fine 1-2-3 for the Audi drivers.
2013 DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller took a sensational pole position after a thrilling 20-minute qualifying session. The Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver set the fastest time in the session with 1:34.516.
Miguel Molina qualified in a strong second overall with his all red #17 Audi RS 5 DTM. The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver was 0.030s behind Rocky's time.
His team-mate at Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline Mattias Ekström was third fastest. The double DTM champion set a personal best of 1:34.721.
Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was fifth. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was eleventh. Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was fourteenth. Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was sixteenth.
Race 1 winner Jamie Green was only ninteenth fastest with his #53 RS 5 DTM from Audi Sport Team Rosberg.
The second race will follow next, a 1-hour event featuring a mandatory pit-stop.
