A perfect weekend for Audi in the opening round of the 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters at Hockenheim. Mattias Ekström gave the Four Rings another race win, a 1-2 for the RS 5 DTM cars.

Mattias Ekström dominated an action packed 1-hour race 2 with his #5 Audi RS 5 DTM. Eki who started from position two on the grid took the race lead in the second part of the race after a great battle with fellow Audi driver Edoardo Mortara. The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver and double DTM champion was nearly unstoppable with very difficult track conditions.

Second place went to Edoardo Mortara. The Italian driver of Audi Sport Team Abt had a solid race 2 with his #48 RS 5 DTM. Edo finished the race seven seconds behind Mattias Ekström.

Mike Rocknfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) who took the pole position earlier today ended in sixth place. The 2013 DTM champion had a solid race with his #99 Audi RS 5 DTM. Rocky battled very hard in the closing stages with reining champion Marco Wittmann for position five.

All of the other Audi drivers were outside the Top 10. Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was twelfth. Jamie Green (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was thirteenth. Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was eighteenth. Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was ninteenth.

Today's race win concluded a great DTM opening round for Audi. All of the three factory Audi teams performed very well with pole positions and race wins.
