Action has started at Silverstone with the first practice session. Audi Sport Team Joest took part in it with a pair of factory Audi R18 e-tron quattros.
The #7 Audi is shared by André Lotterer, Benoit Tréluyer and Marcel Fassler. The sister #8 car is driven by Loïc Duval, Lucas di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis.
The two Audi entries performed well in the 90-minute practice session. The #8 car of Loïc Duval, Lucas di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis was the fastest overall ahead of the second placed #17 Porsche 919 Hybrid. Lucas di Grassi set the best time in the session with 1:42.121.
André Lotterer, Benoit Tréluyer and Marcel Fassler were third fastest with the #7 Audi. The #18 Porsche 919 Hybrid was fourth overall. Positions five and six went to the #2 and #1 Toyota TS040 Hybrids.
The #28 Ligier JS P2 - Nissan from G-Drive Racing was the fastest in LMP2. GTE-Pro class was lead by the works #95 Aston Martin Vantage V8 from Aston Martin Racing. The #88 Porsche 991 RSR from Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing lead the GTE-Am class.
