Audi lead the opening practice session at Silverstone earlier today. The same happened in the second practice session with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars leading the pack.
The #7 Audi R18 e-tron quattro driven by André Lotterer, Benoit Tréluyer and Marcel Fassler was the fastest overall. The double FIA WEC world champions set a best time of 1:41.526.
Their team-mates at Audi Sport Team Joest were second with the sister #8 machine. Loic Duval, Lucas di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis were just 0.298s behind the leading car. The three dirvers set a best time of 1:41.824.
Porsche Team entries were right behind the two Audis. The #17 919 Hybrid in the hands of Timo Bernhard, Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley was third fastest. Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb were fourth fastest driving the #18 Porsche.
Toyota Racing ended the second practice session in positions five and six. Alexander Wurz, Stéphane Sarrazin and Mike Conway were fifth with the #2 TS040 Hybrid. Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima were sixth with the #1 Toyota.
In the other classes, G-Drive Racing lead the LMP2 field with the #28 Ligier JS P2 - Nissan, Porsche Team Manthey was the fastest in GTE-Pro with the #91 Porsche 991 RSR and Aston Martin Racing did the same in GTE-Am with the #98 Aston Martin Vantage V8.
