Bathurst 12 Hour: Melbourne Performance Centre testing at Phillip Island

By Johan Laubscher

With the Bathurst 12 Hour only a few weeks away, the various teams are all busy with their final testing and preparations. Melbourne Performance Centre was out testing at Phillip Island this week.

They are preparing to run five Audi R8 LMS ultra entries with their customers for the once round-the-clock endurance race at Mount Panorama from 6-8 February. The MPC team will include the two Audi R8 LMS ultra cars from JAMEC-PEM Racing and the single car entries from EVA Racing, Rod Salmon and Mark Eddy / Marc Cini.

A total of eight Audi race cars will be taking part at the Bathurst 12 Hour, seven Audi R8 LMS ultra entries and one Audi TT RS.

The day's testing also included the news of a new Audi Sport customer racing team in Australia. Wall Racing has acquired an Audi R8 LMS from Melbourne Performance Centre. They will be running the car for driver Greg Taylor in the 2015 Australian GT Championship.
