By Johan Laubscher

Audi was first and fifth fastest during the morning test session at Paul Ricard and again showed good pace during the afternoon session.

The FIA World Endurance Championship is hosting The Prologue this week, the official two-day test at Paul Ricard. All three of the factory LMP1 teams are taking part: Audi, Porsche and Toyota.

Audi Sport Team Joest has entered two new 2014 Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars at the test session, the same two driver combinations that are entered for the full 2014 FIA WEC season.

The #1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro is driven by Tom Kristensen, Loïc Duval and Lucas di Grassi. The sister #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro is driven by Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer.

The top six factory LMP1 cars were separated by 2.034 seconds this morning, with the #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro setting the fastest time of 1:42.788.

The second session on Friday was held in the afternoon, 14:00-18:00. After finishing second and third during the first session, Porsche shot to the top of the times with the #20 Porsche 919 Hybrid. The #2 Audi was second fastest, 0.285 seconds behind the leading Porsche. They were ahead of the #14 Porsche, the #7 Toyota, the #1 Audi and the #8 Toyota. The #20 Porsche set a fastest time of 1:41.788, with a gap from first to sixth of 2.171 seconds.
