DMV TCC: Class podiums for two RS Tuning Audi R8 LMS ultra cars at Dijon

By Johan Laubscher

The DMV Touring Car Challenge headed to France this weekend, hosting round seven at Dijon. RS Tuning added a second Audi R8 LMS ultra to their arsenal for the event in France.

Two Audi cars were entered for the Dijon DMV TCC event, two Audi R8 LMS ultra cars from RS Tuning. The team has been running a single orange/white R8 LMS ultra for Suzanne Weidt in recent DMV TCC events, and they have also taken victory with the car in the AvD 100 Meilen at the Red Bull Ring. Both of the team’s cars are in full 2013 Audi R8 LMS ultra specification, with the original 2013 rear diffuser. The second car was driven by Suzanne Weidt this weekend, in a white and pink livery (#88), whilst Weidt’s older car, in the white and orange livery (#8), was driven by Dietmar Haggenmüller.

Qualifying for the first race saw Dietmar Haggenmüller placing seventh overall, fourth in his class. He backed this up by qualifying eighth overall for race two, again fourth in class. Suzanne Weidt qualified thirteenth (fifth in class) and eighteenth (fifth in class) for the two races respectively.

The wet races saw the RS Tuning squad achieving their best DMV TCC Audi results yet. Suzanne Weidt finished race one in sixth overall, taking third place in class 8. Her teammate Dietmar Haggenmüller repeated her success in race two, as he also scored sixth overall, again taking a third place in class for the team.

A great start for RS Tuning’s two car Audi R8 LMS ultra team. The DMV TCC will now be heading to Italy for the penultimate round of the season, which will be hosted at Monza in three weeks time.
