The Italian GT Championship is at Imola this weekend, for the fifth meeting of the season. Audi Sport Italia is on site with their pair of Audi R8 LMS ultra cars. The official Audi Italia dealer team did well in the qualifying sessions this afternoon.
In the first qualifying session the best ranked Audi R8 LMS ultra finished in third place. The #5 Audi shared by Johan Kristoffersson and Alex Frassineti set a time of 1:45.234. Their teammates, Dindo Capello and Andrea Sonvico, qualified in seventh place. The two drivers of the #4 Audi R8 LMS ultra with a time of 1:45.913. Pole position went to the #1 BMW Z4 GT3 ahead of the #2 BMW Z4 GT3, both cars from ROAL Motorsport and BMW Italia.
In the second qualifying session Alex Frassineti and Johan Kristofferson qualified in fourth place. The drivers of the #5 Audi R8 LMS ultra set a time of 1:44.561. The sister #4 Audi R8 LMS ultra of Dindo Capello and Andrea Sonvico ended in eighth, with lap time of 1:45:127. Pole position went to the #46 Ferrari 458 GT3 from Black Bull Swisse Racing. Second was the #2 BMW Z4 GT3 from ROAL Motorsport and third the #63 Lamborghini Gallardo from Imperiale Racing.
