Audi ace Mattias Ekström was second fastest in the opening DTM practice session at the Moscow Raceway. The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver set a personal best time of 1:29.340. Eki was right behind the leading BMW of Marco Wittmann.
Edoardo Mortara ended the session in a strong fourth place overall. The Audi Sport Team Abt driver set a personal time of 1:29.498.
Eki's team-mate Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was seventh fastest
The remaining Audi drivers were outside the top-ten. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was thirteenth. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was fourteenth. Jamie Green (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was fifteenth. Nico Mueller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was twenty-second.
New comer to Audi in the DTM, Antonio Giovinazzi was twenty-third fastest. The Italian driver is replacing Timo Scheider this weekend at Audi Sport Team Phoenix.
Action will resume tomorrow with the second practice session, the first qualifying session and the race.
