Artwork: Audi A4 IMSA GTO

When looking at numbers the A4 DTM "R14" is the most successful Audi race car in the brand's DTM history. The car was based on the B8 generation model of the Audi A4. The car gave the Four Rings three championship titles in its four year life between 2008 and 2011 . Two titles with Timo Scheider in 2008 and 2009 for Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline. The final title came with Martin Tomzcyk in 2011 for Audi Sport Team Phoenix. The DTM rules changed at the end of 2011 and the R14 has been retired and replaced by the Audi A5 DTM R17.

This victorious DTM machine is also available in the famous Forza Motorsport 4 video game for the Xbox 360. Here is a very nice render by yuli288 featuring the Audi A4 in old style Audi Sport colors. This R14 is carrying the livery of the legendary 90 quattro IMSA GTO.

Artwork: ABT Audi TT-R Team Need for Speed

The ABT Audi TT-R has been a great and winning racer in the German DTM touring series. Abt Sportsline won the 2002 championship title with Laurent Aiello, not bad for a fully privateer effort against works teams from Mercedes-Benz AMG and Opel OPC.

Here is a nice render featuring the TT-R in a special Need for Speed livery. The livery is a real one which has been seen on other cars in the past, and here it matches perfectly with the awesome Abt built machine.

A nice tribute to the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, the Le Mans winning machine. A very beautiful drawing of the LMP1 racer from Audi Sport with the #1 of André Lotterer, Benoît Tréluyer and Marcel Fässler. The trio are now leading the FIA World Endurance Championship driver's points standings. Below the render is a video showing all the steps for doing this nice artwork.

6 Hours of Fuji Event Poster by lendurance.co.uk

The 6 Hours of Fuji is next weekend, round seventh of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Audi Sport Team Joest will be there with a pair of Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars. A battle lies ahead with the TS030 Hybrid of Toyota Racing, home race for the Japanese team.

Here is a very nice event poster for the Fuji race by our friend Jake Yorath from the British based lendurance.co.uk sportscar magazine. A very Japanese style with the rising sun and the famous Mont Fuji highlighted.

Artwork: Audi A8 in V8 Supercars

With the 2012 Bathurst 1000 having finished today in spectacular style, one does begin to imagine a car wearing the four rings taking part in Australian V8 Supercars. The series down under is spectacular and with the introduction of new rules for 2014 and the addition of Nissan and Mercedez-Benz cars, we can certainly dream of maybe one day seeing Audis competing in the series.

To help that dream, here are outstanding artwork renders from the famous Armageddon Designs. The renders feature a side profile of the Audi A8 D4 in true V8 Supercars style. The first render shows the the famous Triple Eight Engineering livery of TeamVodafone. The driver is none other than Aussie legend, Craig Lowndes, a name not strange to Audi. Lowndes has competed several times with the R8 LMS in Australia. The second render shows us the Audi A8 front lights, giving some clear identity to the Audi design in the render.

These renders give us a glimpse of the dream. The dream of what an Audi V8 Supercar could look like.

Audi R8 LMS ultra FACELIFT - Photoshop

The Audi R8 LMS ultra has been a formidable force in the world of GT3 racing. The race version of the R8 has always resembled the road going version very closely, along with the various modification to produce a FIA GT3 specification racer. Both the original road-going Audi R8 and Audi R8 LMS race cars will always be beautiful.

During 2012 Audi unveiled the new facelifted version of the Audi R8 and immediately speculation arose surrounding the race car. Would we see an updated version of the Audi R8 LMS ultra? Would there be a visual upgrade package for the existing cars? These were just some of the questions that arose, and it is not difficult to see why. The original Audi R8 was breathtaking, and the facelift has not been revolutionary, as it only introduced subtle, yet tasteful styling changes. The visual differences include new front and rear lights and a revised shape to the grill and intakes. The rest of the car’s basic shape and layout has remained unchanged. 

This opens the possibility of easily changing the appearance of exiting and subsequent Audi R8 LMS and Audi R8 LMS ultra cars. The only difference would be to replace the front and rear lights and the front nose section. The rest of the car remains intact, and the end result would be a facelifted Audi R8 LMS ultra race car.

Will we see optional styling upgrade packages for the existing cars? Or will the Audi R8 LMS ultra cars delivered in 2013 all be wearing the new Audi R8 face? Only time will tell.

The crew over at INR8.com (The new Audi R8 focused website) and its sister website Fourtitude, have created a few very interesting photoshop renders. They have taken five of the original Audi R8 LMS ultra press photos and converted them to the new facelift. The original posting of the INR8 facelifted images can be seen HERE. The results look amazing, and allow us a glimpse of what a facelifted Audi R8 LMS ultra could look like.

Will we ever see this beautiful new face representing Audi Sport customer racing on track in the future? We certainly hope so.

Artwork: Audi A4 DTM Martini Racing

The Martini brand has always been linked to motorsport. Unforgettable liveries on factory Porsches at Le Mans and Lancias in the World Rally Championship. Martini has also been seen in the former Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft or simply DTM with Alfa Romeo in the mid 1990s. More than a decade later and Martini is back in the German series, with a fictional artwork render. Here it is in Forza Motorsport 4, and the Audi A4 DTM the chosen car. The legendary white, red and blue livery perfectly matches the victorious R14 machine from Audi Sport.

Two years ago Audi unveiled an outstanding quattro concept car. There was even a rally model version of the concept car as a tribute to the Audi golden years in rallying with the unforgettable quattro cars of the Group B era.

Here is a nice artwork render of that quattro concept in a true Group B style. It looks very extreme and the aerodynamic are close to the legendary S1 quattro Pikes Peak car in the old style Audi Sport livery.

Artwork: Squashed mini Audi R18 TDI

The Audi R18 TDI made history last year by being the first ever closed cockpit LMP1 car from Audi to win Le Mans 24 Hours overall. An outstanding victory after a very difficult race with the one surviving R18 TDI against a full squad of factory Peugeots 908s. Here is a nice artwork render of the winning #2 "Red Sonja" in a very funny squashed Mini Car style. However we doubt that Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler will feel comfortable in this one.

The Audi brand made history in the FIA World Rally Championship during the 1980s. The various versions of the legendary quattro won multiple championships and events in the hands of champions like Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Hannu Mikkola and Michèle Mouton. To this day Quattro still symbolizes the golden Group B years. Audi is out from the sport, but a lot of fans still dream about a comeback to rallying. Here is an outstanding artwork concept of the Audi A1 hatchback rally racer version with old style Audi Sport livery. Maybe it will never happen, but still it is a great tribute to an epic era.

Artwork: 2012 Facelifted Audi A4 DTM

The DTM rules changed for 2012. The series said goodbye to the four door sedans and switched to the two door Coupe formula. Audi dropped the Audi A4 and brought the A5 R17 to the German Touring Car Masters. Here is a great artwork concept image with the new facelifted A4 in DTM style. This may well have been similar to what Audi could have raced this year, if the rules had not changed, and if the Audi A4 was still in use.
