By Tarek Ramchani
Mattias Ekström took a strong second place overall at his home round of Höljes in Sweden.
The Swedish star behind the wheel of his #10 Audi S1 jokered in the first lap and was able to chase the leading group in the following laps. Once all the drivers took their jokers, Mattias Ekström was in the lead ahead of Peugeot's Timmy Hansen.
The EKS team owner was able to resist to Timmy Hansen assauls until the very last corner. The Peugoet driver overtook Mattias Ekström with the Audi coming in second for one of the most emotional finishes in World RX history.
UPDATE: Mattias Ekström has been given the Höljes event victory by the officials. The order is reversed following a last corner hard move and driving outside the track by the Peugeot driver Timmy Hansen.
This is the second straight victory for Mattias Ekström and EKS at Höljes. Timmy Hansen ended in second and Ford driver Andreas Bakkerud is third.
