Spa 24 Hours: Team Parker Racing targets Am-Cup victory in the Belgian classic

By Tarek Ramchani

Team Parker Racing will be heading to Belgium in the next days. The British Audi Sport customer racing team will enter the prestigious Spa 24 Hours with an Audi R8 LMS ultra.

The White and Green #24 Audi R8 LMS ultra will be shared by drivers Benny Simonsen, Ian Loggie, Julian Westwood and Callum Macleod.

In 2014 Spa 24 Hours Team Parker Racing took a sensational second place within the Gentlemen Trophy class with their Audi. The target this time will be the class victory in the stellar event of the Blancpain Endurance Series.

In the previous BES rounds before the Spa 24 Hours, Team Parker Racing performed very well. The UK based team narrowly missed the podium twice at Monza and Silverstone ending both races in fourth place. Bad luck hit them at Paul Ricard with the car being forced to retire in the 6-hour event.

A total of eleven GT3 cars will compete in the Am-Cup. Team Parker Racing will be challenged strong teams representing Ferrari, Porsche and BMW as well the Sainteloc Racing Audi entry.

With a strong driver line-up and a fast and reliable Audi R8 LMS ultra, Team Parker Racing will be no doubts among the favourites to take the Am-Cup honors.
