DTM: Miguel Molina fifth fastest in Zandvoort second qualifying

Audi had a tough second DTM qualifying session at Circuit Park Zandvoort. The Audi RS 5 DTM carrying extra weight compared to the rivals suffered at the demanding Dutch track.

Miguel Molina was the fastest driver within the Audi squad. The Spanish driver was fifth quickest overall behind the wheel of the #17 Audi RS 5 DTM.

The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline was behind four BMW M4 DTM cars. Miguel Molina set a personal best of 1:30.674.


Unfortunately none of the other seven Audi drivers made it inside the top-ten. Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was twelfth. Mattias Ekstrom (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was sixteenth. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was seventeenth. Jamie Green (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was seventeenth. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was eighteenth. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was ninteenth. Nico Mueller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was twentieth. Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was twenty-second.

Pole position for race 2 went to António Félix da Costa ahead his team-mates at BMW Bruno Spengler in second and Augusto Farfus in third.

The second Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race is coming up next, a 1-hour one featuring a mandatory pit-stop.
