DTM: Mike Rockenfeller fastest in Zandvoort first practice

Action has started at Zandvoort, the famous Dutch track played host to the first DTM practice session this afternoon. Audi ace Mike Rockenfeller was the fastest.

The 2013 DTM champion set the best time in the session with a 1:32.009. The Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver was ahead of five BMW M4 DTM cars.

Timo Scheider, an Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver as well was seventh fastest. Mattias Ekstrom was eighth with the Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline run Audi RS 5 DTM.


Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was inside the top-ten, the Italian was tenth fastest. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was eleventh. Nico Mueller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was thirteenth. Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was fourteenth.

Unlucky session for the series points leader Jamie Green. The Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver was only sixteenth fastest.

The second practice session, the first qualifying session and race 1 are all set for Saturday.
