Mattias Ekström was the fastest Audi driver in the second qualifying session at the Norisring today. The double DTM champion was fourth fastest overall.
Eki set a personal best of 48.401 with his #5 Audi RS 5 DTM car. The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver was behind BMW's Bruno Spengler and the two Mercedes-Benz cars of Christian Vietoris and Robert Wickens.
DTM series leader Jamie Green was seventh fastest. The Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver set a personal best of 48.445.
The other Audi drivers pushed hard and set competitive lap times, unfortunately all of them were outside the Top 10.
Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was thirteenth. Nico Mueller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was fifteenth. Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was eighteenth. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was ninteenth. Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was twenty-third. Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was twenty-fourth.
Race 2 at the Norisring will follow next featuring a mandatory pit-stop.
