The DTM action has started at the Norisring this afternoon with the first practice session. The Audi drivers set competitive lap times at the Nürnberg street circuit.
The fastest Audi driver was Jamie Green, fifth overall behind the wheel of his #53 Audi RS 5 DTM. The Audi Sport Team Rosberg and series points leader set a personal best of 48.598.
Adrien Tambay was a position behind, he ended in sixth place. The French driver at Audi Sport Team Abt had a personal best time of 48.609.
Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) narrowly missed the Top 10, the double DTM champion was eleventh fastest.
Mattias Ekström (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was twelfth. Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was eighteenth. Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was ninteenth. Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was twentieth. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was twenty-first.
Up ahead it was a 1-2 Mercedes-Benz with Gary Paffett leading team-mate Paul di Resta. BMW's Bruno Spengler was third fastest.
