Blancpain Endurance Series: Frustrating qualifying for Audi teams at Paul Ricard

The Audi teams had a frustrating qualifying session this morning at the Paul Ricard circuit. None of the Audi R8 LMS entries was inside the Top 10 for today's Blancpain Endurance Series 1000km race.

At the end of three fought qualifying sessions, the best ranked Audi car was a new R8 LMS from Team WRT. The #1 Audi R8 LMS shared by Laurens Vanthoor, René Rast and Mike Rockenfeller qualified in sixteenth place with a best time of 1:57.441.

The #75 Audi R8 LMS ultra from ISR Racing was a position behind. The Czech Pro-Cup entry driven by Filipe Salaquarda, Marco Bonanomi and Frédéric Vervisch seventeenth fastest.


Gregory Guilvert, Edoardo Mortara and Adrien Tambay were eighteenth fastest behind the wheel of the #35 Audi R8 LMS ultra from Sainteloc Racing.

The second new Audi R8 LMS in the French event was ninteenth. The Phoenix Racing run #5 Audi is driven by Christopher Haase, Christopher Mies and Marcel Fässler.

Pole position went to Lamaborghini with the #63 Laborghini Huracan GT3 from GRT Grasser Racing. The #23 Nissan GT-R from GT Academy Team RJN was second. Third place went to the #84 Bentley Continental GT3 from Bentley Team HTP.

The 6 hours race will start at 17:00 CET.
