One driver dominated a wet Audi Sport TT Cup qualifying session at the Norisring. Hong Kong's Shaun Thong will start from pole position in the two races of the weekend in the Nuremberg street circuit.
A sensational performance from Shaun Thong (#8 Audi TT). He set the fastest time overall in the qualifying session with a 58.080. His second best time 58.377 gave him pole position for race 2.
In race 1, Jan Kisiel (#43 Audi TT) will start from position two in the grid. Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky (#89 Audi TT) was third fastest. Nicolaj Moller Madsen (#17 Audi TT) was fourth and Joonas Lappalainen (#45 Audi TT) was fifth.
A kind of dèjà vu for race 2 with almost the same starting order as in race 1 for the Top 5 drivers. Shaun Thong on pole position followed by Jan Kisiel and Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky. A slight change with Joonas Lappalainen fourth fastest ahead of Nicolaj Moller Madsen.
Series points leader Dennis Marschall (#27 Audi TT) will start from seventh place in race 1 and eighth place in the second race.
SEAT Sport's works driver Jordi Gené (#93 Audi TT) qualified in eleventh place for race 1 and tenth for race 2. Playboy's Doreen Seide was twenty-first fastest in race 1's qualifying and twenty-second for race 2.
