TUSC: Strong second for Paul Miller Racing Audi at Laguna Seca

By Tarek Ramchani

Laguna Seca played host to a thrilling TUDOR United SportsCar Championship round. Two Audi R8 LMS cars entered the event performing very well but with different results.

The #48 Audi R8 LMS from Paul Miller Racing took a great second place within the GT Daytona class. The car was driven by Audi factory driver Christopher Haase joined by Dion von Moltke.

The two drivers were among the fastest in GT Daytona and challenged the winning #73 Porsche GT America from Park Place Motorsports for class victory. Christopher Haase hunted class leader Spencer Pumpelly but unfortunately time run out and the German driver was not able to close the gap in order to make a decisive move.

Bad luck hit the other Audi entry, the #45 R8 LMS from Flying Lizard Motorsports. The red and silver car was shared by Guy Cosmo and Patrick Bryne.

The Californian team was leading the class in the early stages of the race but their Audi was hit from another car. Guy Cosmo and Patrick Bryne lost three laps and ended in ninth place within the GT Daytona class.

More to come.
