DTM: Mattias Ekström second fastest in Lausitzring opening practice

The Audi drivers performed well in the first practice session at the Lausitzring. A total of six Audi RS 5 DTM cars made it into the Top 10.

Race winner at Hockenheim Mattias Ekström was second fastest in the opening practice. The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver was right behind the leading BMW M4 DTM of Tom Blomqvist.

Jamie Green, another race winner for Audi at Hockenheim, was among the strongest in the field. The Audi Sport Team Rosberg was fourth fastest.


The 2013 DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was fifth fastest. Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was sixth. Double DTM champion Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was seventh. Spanish Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was tenth.

The remaining two Audi drivers were outside the Top 10. Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was thirteenth fastest. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was eighteenth.

DTM action will resume tomorrow with a second practice session, qualifying for race 1 and the 40-minute race 1.
