The Blancpain Sprint Series had a great season opener last time out in France at Nogaro's Coupes de Paques. Action will resume this weekend in the UK at the beautiful Brands Hatch circuit.
Audi Sport customer racing will be very well represented once again. A total of Seven Audi R8 LMS ultra cars will enter the British round coming from three different teams.
Belgian Audi Club Team WRT will field four Audis. The #1 R8 LMS ultra will be shared by Laurens Vanthoor and Robin Frinjs. Both drivers were extremely unlucky at Nogaro with their car severaly damaged. The #2 Audi will be driven by Christopher Mies and Enzo Ide. The #3 machine will be in the hands of Stéphane Richelmi and Stéphane Ortelli. Local hero James Nash will be joind by Frank Stippler driving the #4 Audi.
Two Audis for the Czech team I.S.R. Racing. The #74 R8 LMS ultra will be shared by Danish brothers Anders Fjordbach and Thomas Fjordbach, they will compete in the Silver-Cup class. The #75 Audi will be driven by Marco Bonanomi and Filip Salaquarda.
Phoenix Racing will be at Brands Hatch with a single car effort. Their #6 Audi R8 LMS ultra will be driven by Niki Mayr-Melnhof and Markus Winkelhock.
The Blancpain Sprint Series weekend at Brands Hatch will start on Saturday with two practice sessions followed by qualifying. The qualifying race and the main race will be held on Sunday.
