World RX: The Audi teams heading to Hockenheim for round two

By Tarek Ramchani

No break for FIA World Rallycross Championship competitors. Just one week after the season opener in Portugal, World RX teams and drivers are about to race in Germany. The Hockenheim Grand Prix Circuit will play host to round two of the 2015 season sharing the weekend with the prestigious DTM.

The Audi squad will be represented by five Supercars coming from the three regular teams.

EKS will enter the Hockenheim event with two Audi S1 cars with a sligh change. Mattias Ekstrom being busy with in DTM with Audi Sport, he will be replaced a familiar face, Edward Sandström. The Audi GT driver from Sweden competed last year with EKS in selected World Rallycross events.

The second car will be in the hands of Anton Marklund who will have a busy racing weekend. He will compete in both World RX and the newly formed  TT Cup single-make series. In Portugal Anton Marklund had some ups and downs with some strong performances and bad luck as well.

Hockenheim is a home round for German team ALL-INKL Münnich Motorsport. In Portugal both René Münnich and Alx Danielsson faced a frustrating weekend with multiple issues hitting their Audi S3 RXs. The two drivers will be eager to bounce back and perform well.

The fifth Audi entry is from Larsson Jernberg Racing with an Audi A1. Robin Larsson performed very well in Montalegre with his fully privateer Audi A1 Supecar. The 2014 FIA European Rallycross champion made it to the Semi-Final and proved to be among the best drivers in a very demanding field.
