FIA WEC: Audi third and fifth in a wet second practice session at Spa-Francorchamps

Thursday's FIA WEC action resumed this afternoon at Spa-Francorchamps circuit with the second practice session. The 90-minute session was highlighted by bad weather and difficult track conditions.

Best of the two factory Audis  was the #7 R18 e-tron quattro in thrid place overall. The car in the hands of André Lotterer, Benoit Trélueyer and Marcel Fassler covered a total of 14 laps. The 6 Hours of Silverstone winners were behind the two Porsche 919 Hybrids with a best time of 2:26.183.

The #9 Audi R18 e-tron quattro ended in fifth place behind the fourth placed #18 Porsche 919 Hybrid. Audi drivers Flipe Albuquerque, Marco Bonanomi and René Rast covered a total of 12 laps setting a best time of 2:28.056.


The #8 Audi e-tron quattro driven by Lucas di Grassi, Loic Duval and Oliver Jarvis didn't take part in this second practice session. The car has  crashed earlier in the opening practice session.
