The Blancpain GT Series held its second set of official test days this week. Misano in Italy played host to two days of official testing for the Blancpain Sprint Series on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Misano test days were the second and final set of Blancpain GT Series official test days following the Blancpain Endurance Series test days at Paul Ricard last week. Four sessions of four hours each took place at Misano during the two days of testing.
Two Audi Sport customer racing teams took part at Misano, two cars from I.S.R. Racing and one from Belgian Audi Club Team WRT.
I.S.R. Racing fielded both of its Audi R8 LMS ultra cars. The results sheets listed the drivers of the #75 Audi as Marco Bonanomi and Filip Salaquarda. Anders Fjordbach was listed as the sole driver of the #74 Audi R8 LMS ultra whilst his brother, Thomas Fjordbach, is in China preparing for the opening round of the Audi R8 LMS Cup at Zhuhai.
Belgian Audi Club Team WRT only entered one Audi R8 LMS ultra at Misano. The #3 machine had Jean-Karl Vernay, James Nash and Robin Frijns as its listed drivers.
I.S.R. Racing set the fastest time during the final day of testing on Wednesday. The #75 Audi R8 LMS ultra was at the top of the time sheets with a 1:33.330 lap, the overall fastest lap during the two days of testing. The #74 I.S.R. Audi was again third fastest, followed by the #3 WRT Audi in fourth.
The results from the first and second days of the Misano tests can be seen HERE and HERE.
A total of seven Audi R8 LMS ultra entries have been entered for the 2015 Blancpain Sprint Series, four Audi R8 LMS ultra cars from Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, two from I.S.R. Racing and a single car entry from Phoenix Racing.
Phoenix Racing was the only Audi team absent from the official Misano test days, as the German team was out testing at Nogaro in France on Monday and Tuesday this week.
Nogaro will be hosting the opening BSS round from 4-6 April.
