2015 marks the 25th season of the Carrera Cup (RCCO) Slotcar Championship and it will be getting underway with the Shell 20 Minutes of Hamburg on Wednesday 18 February.
Audi Team tv racing will be aiming to reclaim the championship title this year. The team's two drivers, Thomas Voigt (192 points) and Jan Hennen (180 points), finished second and third respectively last year. Stefan Waschow (207 points) won the 2014 title with his Volkswagen Polo R WRC.
The duo of Voigt and Hennen will be behind the controls of the #7 Schaeffler Audi R8 LMS ultra for the Shell 20 Minutes of Hamburg. Voigt will continue to pilot the #7 Audi during the rest of the season and his teamamate, Jan Hennen, will use the #3 Audi. Audi Team tv racing is starting the season with the 2014-spec Audi R8 LMS ultra and will be introducing a new car later in the year.
More Audi slotcar teams will also be taking part, including the Audi S1 EKS RX team with drivers Michael Niemas and Martin Kummerow. RCCO will also be introducing an Audi Sport TT cup with six entries this year.
