TUSC: Filipe Albuquerque joins Starworks Motorsport PC entry for the Daytona 24 Hours

By Johan Laubscher

The Rolex 24 at Daytona is coming up this week, the opening round of both the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup. Two Audi Sport customer racing teams, Paul Miller Racing and Flying Lizard Motorsports, will each be fielding one Audi R8 LMS in the GT Daytona class. Along with these Audi entries, two more Audi Sport factory drivers will also be taking part within the prototype divisions.

Audi Sport DTM driver, Mike Rockenfeller, had previously been announced that he will again be joining the SDR Motorsports team at Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans. He will be driving the #90 VisitFlorida.com Racing Corvette Daytona Prototype alongside Richard Westbrook and Michael Valiante.

Rocky will be joined in the Rolex 24 prototype ranks by another of his fellow Audi Sport factory drivers following a late announcement on the Tuesday of race week.

Audi Sport LMP1 driver, Filipe Albuquerque, has been added to the Prototype Challenge (PC) class line-up for Starworks Motorsport. He replaces Enrique Bernoldi in the #8 Martini liveried ORECA FLM09. He will be sharing the car with Mirco Schultis, Renger van der Zande, Alex Popow and Mike Hedlund.
