FIA WEC: Porsche remains on top trailed by Toyota and Audi after FP3 in Brazil

By Johan Laubscher

The third and final Free practice session in Brazil concluded with Porsche remaining on top of the time sheets.

As was the case in FP1 and FP2, the Porsche squad went 1-2 with their pair of Porsche 919 hybrid cars. Porsche #14 set the fastest time ahead of their teammates in the #20 Porsche.

The LMP1 manufacture teams were split into pairings inside of the top six overall. Porsche lead the way, followed by the two Toyota TS 040 Hybrid cars and the two Audis. Toyota #8 was third fastest, followed by the #7 Toyota in fourth.

Positions five and six were occupied by the Audi Sport Team Joest Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars. The #2 Audi squad of Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer were fifth, ahead of Audi #1 with Tom Kristensen, Lucas di Grassi and Loïc Duval.

The qualifying session is up next at 14h45 local time on Saturday at Interlagos in Brazil, followed by the 6 Hours of São Paulo on Sunday. We wish the best of luck to Audi Sport Team Joest and the Audi drivers.
