TUSC: The Audi teams qualified well at Candian Tire Motorsports Park

By Tarek Ramchani

As was the case in all free practice sessions, the Audi squad performed well again in the 15-minute GT Daytona qualifying session at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Three Audi R8 LMS cars were among the Top 10 in what it is seen as the most competitive class in the newly formed TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

Flying Lizard Motorsports put their #45 Audi R8 LMS in the front row and will start from second place in the TUSC 2h45 race. Spencer Pumpelly qualified the car with a best time of 1:19.159 and was right behind the pole setting SRT Viper GT3-R of Jeron J.Bleekemolen.

The second Flying Lizard Motorsports entry qualified well too, the #35 car  a fine fifth place within the GTD class.

The #48 Audi R8 LMS from Paul Miller Racing made it into the Top 10. Christopher Haase and Bryce Miller will start from position 10.

The Fall-Line Motorsports #46 Audi R8 LMS had a harder session. The all blue car in the hands of Charles Espenlaub and Charlie Putman will start from position seventeen.

UPDATE: The #45 Audi R8 LMS from Flying Lizard Motorsports will start from the back of the pack after a ride height infringement.
