Pirelli World Challenge: Seven Audi R8 LMS ultra heading to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

The Pirelli World Challenge is heading to the beautiful Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this upcoming weekend. The Audi Sport customer racing squad will be represented by no less than seven Audi R8 LMS ultra cars.

Three cars will enter the upper GT class At Mid-Ohio and will fight for race wins and top spots against strong rivals from Cadillac, Ferrari, McLaren, Bentley and Porsche.

CRP Racing will have a single car effort, their #2 Audi R8 LMS ultra will be driven by Mike Skeen. GMG Racing will enter two cars, James Sofronas will be in the hands of the #14 Audi, his team-mate Andrew Palmer will drive the #21 R8 LMS ultra.

Audi is now second in the manufacturers' championship standing with 60 points, seven points behind the leaders from Cadillac. Mike Skeen is second in the drivers standing with 930 points and Andrew Palmer is fourth with 867 points.


The remaining four Audi R8 LMS ultra cars will enter the GT-A class open to gentlemen drivers. GMG Racing will manage three cars, the #32 car of Bret Curtis, the #76 car of Alex Welch and the #95 car of Bill Ziegler. The fourth Audi GT-A effort is coming from JCR Motorsports, their #99 R8 LMS ultra in the hands of Jeff Courtney.

Two races will be held at Mid-Ohio, the first race is set for Saturday and the second race on Sunday.
