DTM: Mattias Ekström third, three Audis within the Top 5 in Norisring FP1

Action has started a the Norisring in DTM with already a strong pace shown by the Audi drivers in the first practice session.

Three Audi drivers made it into the Top 5 representing all three factory teams. Mattias Ekström was the best ranked Audi driver with a strong third place in the 1-hour session. The Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline Swedish ace with a best time of 48.664, just 0.097s behind the leader Daniel Juncadella (Mercedes-Benz).

Timo Scheider was fourth fastest with his all black RS 5 DTM run bu Audi Sport Team Phoenix. The double DTM champion with a best time of 48.686.

DTM rookie Nico Müller was impressive again ending the session in fourth place. The Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver with a best time of 48.704. His team-mate Jamie Green was right behind in sixth place.

Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt) was tenth, Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) was eleventh, Miguel Molina (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was thirteenth and Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) was sixteenth.
