Action has started at Hockenheim and the 2014 DTM season is officially underway. The Audi squad already performing well with very strong performances in the free practice session today.
The Audi RS 5 DTM cars were among the fastest in the field. Three Audi drivers made it into the top 5 and a total of six were classified within the top 10.
Miguel Molina was second fastest overall with his #8 Audi RS 5 DTM from Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline. The Spanish driver set a best time of 1:32.706, only 0.052s behind the leader Marco Wittmann and his BMW M4 DTM.
Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) finished in third place with the #16 Audi RS 5 DTM. New comer to Audi and rookie in DTM, Nico Mueller (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) was impressive finishing fourth with his #22 Audi RS 5 DTM. Edoardo Mortara whos switched this year to Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline ended in a good sixth place
The other Audi drivers finished in P8 with Jamie Green (Audi Sport Team Rosberg), P9 with Mike Rockefeller (Audi Sport Team Phoenix), P11 with Timo Scheider (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) and P12 with Mattias Ekstrom (Audi Sport Team Abt)
