BTCC: Rob Austin Audi narrowly missed the top 10 in the Brands Hatch qualifying

Brands Hatch is hosting this weekend the season opener of the British Touring Car Championship. Two Audi teams are on site with two diffrent cars.

Rob Austin Racing with two Audi A4 NGTC for team owner/driver Rob Austin and his team-mate Hunter Abbott. Rotek Racing are debuting in BTCC with an Audi S3 Sedan driven by Robb Holland.

The qualifying session held this afternoon was thrilling to follow for the fans. No less than 23 cars with less than a one second gap.


Rob Austin driving his #101 Audi A4 NGTC had an impressive pace. "Sherman" just missed the top 10 in qualifying and finished eleventh with a best time of 48.488. Hunter Abbott with the #54 Audi A4 NGTC was twenty-first in his BTCC debut.

Robb Holland driving the #67 Audi S3 Sedan qualified in twenty-eighth position. This is the first time out for the car the Rotek Racing Audi in the BTCC.

Pole position went to 2013 BTCC champion Andrew Jordan with a Honda Civic. Second was Jason Plato with the factory MG6 GT. Thirs was Colin Turkington with a BMW 125i.

The three races are set for tomorrow. We wish the best of luck to all Audi drivers.
