Audi Sport Italia Press Release
Fourth Audi Sport Italia-built RS 5 successfully shaken down at Adria, Italy yesterday by Thomas Schoeffler
Emilio Radaelli's outfit gearing up for 2014 Euro V8
Audi Sport Italia is happy to announce that the fourth in house-built RS 5 has been shaken down yesterday on a glorious sunny day at Adria Raceway, the twisty circuit located on Venice Mainland. 2013 GT Sprint champion Thomas Schoeffler was on site to perform the checks and he put his stamp on the day, also rejoining a car model that he drove across the 2012 Superstars season before moving on to Audi's R8 LMS.
Although this may have been a one-off for the young driver from Singen, Germany, Audi Sport Italia has already ongoing talks with drivers interested in driving RS 5s in the new-born Euro V8 Series, which is set to resume where the wound down Superstars Series left, with a minimum of 16 cars assured for the Monza, Italy kick-off on April 6.
At Adria Raceway Audi Sport Italia also fired up the RS 5 that had brilliantly sealed off the Superstars season in Franciacorta with Ermanno Dionisio twice stepping on the podium. Three drivers, one each from Italy, Germany and Czech Republic tried their hands on the bue-silver tin top and all were elated by their early impressions, which seems to hint that one --or more-- of them will be in the 2014 Euro V8 field on a regular basis.
