FIA WEC: Audi at the top of the third and final practice session in Bahrain

By Johan Laubscher

The third and final practice session concluded in Bahrain this morning. Toyota may have been fastest during both sessions yesterday, but Audi has regained the top stop.

The Toyota/Audi/Toyota/Audi order from the second free practice was reversed this morning, as Audi #2 of Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Loïc Duval set the fastest time. They were followed by the #8 Toyota in second and Audi #1 of Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Treluyer in third, ahead of the fourth placed #7 Toyota. Rebellion Racing placed fifth with their privateer Lola.

All four of the factory cars dropped below the one minute forty-four second lap time bracket, with the #2 Audi dropping into the forty-twos.
