By Tarek Ramchani

Curitiba hosted the second round of the Brazilian GT, also known as the Portal GT Series. A single Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 specification) entered the event with great performances and results.

Ebrahim Motors is the only Audi team in this South American SRO run championship. Their #20 silver and red Audi R8 LMS ultra is supported by Audi Brazil. As usual the car was shared by the two regular drivers: Wagner and Fabio Ebrahim. The two brothers performed very well all weekend long. After good qualifying sessions, the team finished in a strong second place in race 1 on Saturday, behind a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Race 2 on Sunday was even better, a maiden win this season for Wagner and Fabio Ebrahim. The #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra finished first ahead of the race 1 winning Lamborghni Gallardo. The two cars battled hard for the race win. In in the end the Audi car crossed the finish line victorious, winning by a very narrow lead of just 0,296 ahead of the Lamborghini. This victory for the Ebrahim brothers follows on from strong performances last time out at São Paulo.

The next round of the Brazilian GT will be at the Autódromo Internacional de Tarumã, July 28th.
