The Audi R8 GRAND-AM was specially developed for the American based Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series. The car is very different from its original FIA GT3 specifications and needed very special treatment to meet Rolex Series set of rules.
Like all the R8 cars, both for road and track, the R8 GRAND-AM is built by quattro GmbH. The in-house high end performance subdivision of the Audi AG is responsible for the Audi Sport customer racing department.
