2013 VLN Endurance Series Calendar

VLN Press Release

The provisional calendar for the 37th season of the VLN endurance racing championship is set. In 2013, the series of the most popular racing series in Germany will again include ten rounds at the combined track of the Nürburgring short version and the Nordschleife. Nine races will run over the distance of four hours and one race will cover six hours. After the unofficial start of the season on 16th March, the very popular test and set-up session, the racing year will have its official kick-off with the first race on 23rd March. The championship will then be decided at the last race on 26th October.

After the launch of the 2013 season, two further VLN races will take place before the ADAC Zurich 24h Race, namely on 13th and on 27th April 2013. After the traditional and classical race in the Eifel region, both teams and drivers will have enough time to recover from the stresses and strains of the race twice around the clock. The fourth race will then follow on 22nd June 2013. The date of 6th July 2013 remains to be finally confirmed, with the 12th October 2013 as reserve date. Races six to nine will take place on 20th July 2013, on 24th August 2013, on 14th September 2013 and finally on 28th September 2013.

“Once again, our participants may well look forward again to ten times motorsport action in the ‘Green Hell’ next year”, says VLN Chairman Rolf Krimpmann. “The VLN will now wait to see the further development regarding the date on 6th July and then allocate the dates to the individual organisers. We will then also know on which Saturday the highlight of the season, the 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen, will be held.”
