Grand-Am Road Racing is preparing for the 2013 season. A two day test was run at the famous Daytona International Speedway, home of the Rolex 24. Audi was there with a factory backed R8 GRAND-AM under the Audi of America banner, and they did really well.

Audi's legend Frank Biela took charge of driving the #52 R8 GRAND-AM. Right from the start the car was on top the of the GT field. In the end Frankie was able to finish the first day as the fastest GT car with a time of 1:48.953. A strong performance from a driver who has never been at Daytona before. "Very impressive. It was a strange feeling with the banking at first, but I quickly started enjoying it." - Frank Biela.

Frank Biela and the R8 were again able to do well during the second day. The #52 Audi finished second in the GT class right behind the leading Porsche GT3 Cup.

After a mixed 2012 season in the Rolex Series, the Audi R8 GRAND-AM is continuing to improve. The performances shown thus far could be the start of a great 2013.
