Before the launch of the
Audi R18, the Audi R8C was the first and only closed-roof Le Mans prototype racer from Audi. The car was developed for the 1999 Le Mans 24 Hours. Audi
Sport UK (Apex Motorsport) ran two of these cars. The short development time
doomed the ill-fated R8C cars, but they did look beautiful on track.
