Rob Austin Racing with two Audi A4 at Rockingham

By Tarek Ramchani

Rob Austin Racing missed the last BTCC round at Knockhill in Scotland due to budget related issues. The only Audi team in British Touring Cars is back this weekend with two Audi A4 NGTC cars.

Rockingham is hosting the eighth round of the championship. The team is really looking forward to have a great weekend in Northamptonshire. Last year Rob Austin the driver/team owner scored a sensational second place, narrowly missing a historic first win with his A4 NGTC. Rob Austin will drive the #13 Audi and the sister #14 will be for the fast youngster, Will Bratt. Despite being fully privately built, the Audi A4 is clearly one of the strongest cars in the field. In many races it challenged and was ahead of top competitors from Honda, MG and BMW.

Rob Austin himself is aiming very high: "We have definitely taken BIG steps forward with what we have done! I can’t wait to see how we compare at Rockingham. It’s also a strong circuit for RWD cars and was a great round for us last season… Personally believe that Will and I will now have the tools we need to finally get that first win."

In the overall driver standings, Rob Austin is fourteenth overall with 72 points and Will Bratt is twenty-second with 20 points. In the team standings Rob Austin Racing are eighth overall with 94 points. Qualifying is set for Saturday afternoon with all three races on Sunday. We wish the best of luck to the team and both drivers.
