The Audi R8 LMS has been a sensation all over the world, from east to west and north to south. The car debuted in 2009 and quickly made its mark. The first Audi R8 LMS to cross the hemisphere heading south naturally went down under, to Australia. At first only one Audi R8 LMS was in Australia but it was soon followed by many more, including factory backed entries from both Joest and Phoenix Racing in select events. Fast forward to the present day and there are almost half a dozen Audi R8 LMS cars in the country with many of them actively competing. 
Melbourne Performance Centre is the Australian organisation that acts as the official Audi Sport customer partner in the country. MPC have been heavily involved with the running of all the Audi R8 LMS cars in the Australian GT Series.
