Prosperia UHC Speed Audi assault on the 2012 German ADAC GT Masters

By Johan Laubscher :

German Audi fans may have been worried about the 2012 ADAC GT Championship. The end of 2011 saw the ABT Sportline and Phoenix Racing team’s last races in the series. With the news that the two top German R8 LMS teams were not going to compete in 2012 many fans may have been worried that no Audis would feature at the front of the ultra competitive ADAC GT grid.

However the fans do not have to be worried, another top German team is preparing for a very strong assault on the 2012 ADAC GT championship. This team entered a single R8 LMS in 2011 but their intentions for 2012 are very clear. The German Prosperia UHC Speed team will be aiming for the 2012 title armed with two brand new Audi R8 LMS ultra cars and a brilliant driver line-up.

The team has recently acquired its two new cars and announced its drivers for 2012. The two cars will be driven by Christian Abt sharing with Carsten Tilke and Christopher Mies sharing with Christer Jöns. Anyone who follows GT racing will know that this is an extremely competitive driver line-up and armed with the latest GT3 specification race cars from Audi this will be a front running team in 2012. The team has been very busy testing their new cars.

Prosperia UHC Speed will not be alone in the Audi ranks in ADAC GT. Mamerow Racing and Novidem Swiss Racing are also planning to run with Audi R8 LMS cars this year. Mamerow Racing is new to the Audi brand and has also acquired an Audi R8 LMS ultra and will be another top team to watch this season.

With at least four Audis on the grid, the brand of the Four Rings will be well represented in Germany’s ADAC GT championship.
